The Process: Boost your business technology $15k CDAP Grant

Like all of our processes, we’ve streamlined this to make it as simple as possible for you. We’ll walk you through each step, and answer any questions you have along the way.

The first step is to apply for the digital adoption program. You will be approved within 5-10 business days and can select us – Chops Consulting Ltd. – as your digital advisor to guide you through this program. Let us help you take the stress out of your Canada Digital Adoption Program application.

Contact us for help in determining your eligibility and filling out your application. You can also fill out our brief form here to determine eligibility. We’re here for you every step of the way!

Once you receive your CDAP eligibility approval, we will get started on your Digital Adoption Plan. Through a series of deep-dive interviews reviewing your current technology, barriers you’re facing, and goals for growth, we’ll go through our Tech & Systems Audit or Marketing Strategy which will give you a complete report on your business, our recommendations, and a roadmap to implementing them.

Once we have identified your firm’s needs and priorities and made our plan, it’s time to submit your plan to CDAP in order to receive the grant funds.

Once you’ve submitted your Digital Adoption Plan to ISED (Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada) you will receive your grant reimbursement within 30 days. You may also choose to apply to apply for your BDC Business Loan or Employee Subsidy.

You receive your funding and now it is time to put the plan into action and start the tech conversion. We handle the setup end to end, coordinate with any technology vendors, and even provide training and processes to your team so you’re not stuck with software you’re completely clueless about using. We’ll also stick around for future support and tweaks as you use it and discover what features or additional functionality you need.

Many provinces including BC, AB and ON have partnered with the federal government to offer the Grow Your Business Online Grant. This is great for small businesses who do not qualify for the federal CDAP, or businesses who want to apply for both and get more grant money.

Recognizing the need for small & medium-sized businesses to keep up with today’s fast-paced technology changes, the federal government has introduced the Canada Digital Adoption Program; a $4 billion initiative to help businesses implement much-needed technology updates.

There are two main Canada Digital Adoption Program (CDAP) grants available right now for businesses: One with a technology focus “Boost Your Business Technology” ($15,000) and one with a marketing focus “Grow Your Business Online” ($2,400). We help businesses with both grants.

There are two main technology grants available right now for businesses in The Canada Digital Adoption Program. Boost Your Business Technolgoy is a $15,000 grant for businesses with gross revenue over $500,000, and designed to help businesses improve their digital technology, and qualify for a 0% interest BDC Loan of up to $100,000.

The Provincial Grow Your Business Online grant is available across Canada. This $2,400 grant is available to most businesses with revenue over $30,000, and is focused on marketing activities, including website upgrades, SEO, e-commerce, and back end solutions such as accounting and CRM systems.

As long as you are able to provide proof of revenue, you do not have to have hit the threshold as of your last tax return.

Yes! As long as your business qualifies for each grant, you can register for both for a total of $17,400. Most of our clients who qualify for the $15,000 grant also qualify for the $2,400 one.

Eligibility approval for the $15,000 Boost Your Business Technology is typically within 7 days, unless it needs manual review (such as if you only just hit the $500,000 threshold. Approval for the $2,400 Grow Your Business Online grant can take up to 1-2 months.

Neither the Boost Your Business Technology nor the Grow Your Business Online CDAP grants are straight cash. They are designed to motivate Canadian businesses to improve their technology and online presence, and as such are reimbursed after payment for services. Typically the grant is repaid by the program within 30 days.

The good news is you do not have to repay any of the grant, it’s yours to keep!

Businesses who register for the Canada Digital Adoption Program are eligible for benefits beyond the $17,400 in grants, including $50,000-$100,000 zero-interest loans from the BDC for improving digital technology, and funded work placement up to $7,300 for hiring new grads.

Yes. We are fully approved Digital Advisors for this program. This is important because businesses who qualify for the $15,000 Boost Your Business Technology CDAP grant are required to work only within a short list of approved Digital Advisors.
