0:01 Hello, here is a video on recording disbursements to your clients matter for future invoicing or current leap legal invoicing. So what you’re going to do once you’re in your matter you will just go over to general accounting and you have two options along the side here.
0:25 One is anticipated expenses and the other is expense for coverage. The the main day of the year, the difference is anticipated expenses.
0:33 When you record these, you can have these expenses that are coming up in the future, that a future dates as well as you can record if you’re paying to a specific supplier.
0:44 This is, I’m just showing you this really quickly. This is a video for expense for coverage specifically. I’m just, I’m just showing you that it exists.
0:54 I will, you know, I can do another video on that, but just wanted to show the show, see you know, which one to choose.1:01 So, the other difference is anticipated expenses. You can record when it’s paid. And then when it’s built separately, or as expense your coveries is for when you basically already paid the expense and you want to be able to record it for your general ledger or to be able to invoice a client.
1:22 So it’s just under general accounting expense recoveries and you can hit this new expense recovery button. So, you can do, want to create a customer recovery code for that.
1:34 You can do the under settings. Otherwise, like by default has one sick copies, courier, e filing, filing fees. In this case, you could probably choose.
1:43 I don’t know if this is a leaf default water. This is what I created, but it’s a leak filing fees.
1:49 You can select it and then I’ll say filing fees for and then you can put in a filing freezer for.
1:54 Yeah, this is one that I created because I pre program the filing fees amount into it. It is $100 whether or not that hundred is flat or includes tax.
2:06 In this case, I have said it to tax exempt, which I believe most filing fees are, but you can also go through and select your tax code if you need to.
2:14 You will record the date that it was on. And then you can choose. Well, there’s billable next invoice, billable on a later invoice.
2:19 Like if you wanted to build a disbursement city end or something. Or not billable. The one, you know, case where you make sure it’s not billable is if you are quoting a flat fee that includes a file.
2:30 And that includes all disbursements because you’ve already calculated those. Then this wouldn’t be billable as a separate line that we choose not billable because it used to want to record that you paid it, but for next invoice, you just choose billable next invoice, save and close.
2:43 And then now we have. This showing up under expense for memories. Then you would just go to your expenses and receivables and you can create new invoice.
2:56 And this will, you know also pull in anything else. The billable next invoice. Will be a little bit more expensive.
3:06 And then you can also add expense recovery directly from a new invoice screen. And that will just pop up the same one that I.
3:16 That I selected under here. So that’s another place that you can access this. Save and close. And then you can send the invoice directly to the client.
3:25 You can print the invoice. Whatever it might be. You can also save and save and trust for sales transfer. If you have money and trust.
3:46 So that is how you create an expense recovery and build to apply it. And I’m just going to quickly show you where you can customize your activity codes, as it can help when you are doing leap legal invoicing work.
3:57 It’s just under menu settings application settings. So that’s the same. And then accounting. And we have our expense recovery. So you can also create customer codes for time and fees.
4:14 So these are the ones that we have in here. And then you can do new expense recovery code. And type in like another three or four letters that you want it to be billing description, some other settings.
4:24 If you want to deplete, populate a dollar amount when you use it. You can also, you don’t have to use the code.
4:30 So you can also use that code. So you can also use that code. You can use it. Once you create expense recoveries, you can also just type something manually in the billing description and leave this blank, especially if it’s a one off.
4:41 But this can be handy if you, you know, for photocopies or filing or things that you do a lot.
