Celene:       Hi there, it’s Celene from Chops Consulting and today I’m going to show you how to customize your invoice layouts in LEAP. Specifically, I’ll cover the two options LEAP has for how invoice layouts show up and how to fix the error that can prevent you from choosing your own invoice template.
Let’s start with the problem: When you hit the print button in LEAP, instead of giving you an option of templates, LEAP might just automatically print a basic, generic invoice. This invoice does match your invoice layout in terms of your sections and columns, but it’s pretty plain and doesn’t necessarily look customized to your brand.
So, why does this happen? It’s because of the firm details in LEAP’s application settings. Anything you fill out under the firm details section will override the ability to choose your own invoice layout.
To fix this, you can remove your logo, uncheck display firm name and logo, and uncheck anything else in that section. Remember, it takes four changes to make effect, so exit Leap and reopen it for the changes to take place.
Now, when you go back to the matter and print the invoice again, you’ll have the option to choose from a variety of templates. You can even customize these templates further by editing the precedents under your forms and precedents button.
When you choose a template, it will look much nicer and more professional than the basic one that Leap automatically prints. It will have your branding, your header and footer, your signature, and your brand colours. And the best part? It’s easy to do and doesn’t take a lot of work. If you’re ready to impress your clients with custom, professional-looking invoices, follow these steps and take your invoicing game to the next level.
